Blue Ribbon Dog Training Policies

-
Training. At Blue Ribbon Dogs, we train using positive reinforcement training methods. We ask that you follow the guidance of your instructor and only use positive training while at BRD. No prong collars, choke chains, electronic collars or harsh physical corrections are allowed.

-
Vaccination Policy. All dogs must be current on Rabies and Distemper/Parvo vaccines for the duration of their class at BRD. Proof of current vaccines must be provided to BRD before dogs will be allowed to attend any training sessions or classes. This can be uploaded when registering for a class, emailed to blueribbondogsmn@gmail.com or a physical copy can be brought to the first night of class.

-
Sick Dogs. Please do not bring a sick dog to class. If your dog is coughing, sneezing, vomiting or having diarrhea please keep them at home. You are welcome to attend class without your dog and we will supply you any materials you may have missed.

-
Refund Policy. There will be no refund of class registration fees unless the class session is canceled or if requested in writing at least one week prior to the class start date. A refund may be given with less than one week notice if the spot can be filled from the waiting list or due to extenuating circumstances at the discretion of Blue Ribbon Dogs staff.

-
Weather/Cancellation Policy. Safety is our first priority. Classes will be canceled due to weather at the discretion of BRD staff. If class is canceled, a make-up session will be scheduled to replace it.

-
Aggressive or Reactive Dogs. Dogs that are aggressive or highly reactive towards other dogs or humans or are not allowed in group classes. Private lessons are more suitable for these situations and can often be used to get dogs to place where they can be successful in a group class. If you are not sure if your dog is ready for a group class, please contact us.

-
Hours of Operation. Blue Ribbon Dogs operates by appointment only. Please do not stop by outside of your scheduled class or private lesson time.

-
Children and Dogs. Handlers must be at least 16 years old to enroll in classes on their own. Children under 16 are welcome to attend class and handle a dog under the supervision of a parent/guardian as long as they are capable of managing the dog around other dogs and people.
